Overview: Square Enix is bringing the Dragon Quest library to smartphones starting with the original Dragon Quest all the way to Dragon Quest VIII.





The iOS and Android version is actually the first port of Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King and this version uses the same graphics as the PlayStation 2 release.



The big difference is Dragon Quest VIII for smartphones is in "tall screen" mode. It appears players use a virtual analog stick to walk around the world. In battle, Dragon Quest VIII feels more like earlier Dragon Quest games since the monster models are tiny compared to the size of the menu.
