"Wakelock Detector" Version 1.3

This application helps you to detect battery consuming applications in your Android device by checking wakelock history.

Now you can check which apps drain your battery mostly in a simple way!

Wakelock is a mechanism in Android power management, which means to keep CPU and/or Screen on. When a process holds a wakelock, device will refrain from entering a low-power state. This results device battery to drain faster.

Our application shows wakelock history for all applications, which ever hold wakelock since last boot.

Also user is able to check if any currently active application holds wakelock in the background.

Main features:

- show Screen wakelock, except Full (cpu&screen) and Partial (cpu) wake locks

- merge all services of app into one expandable view for better user experience

- show which apps currently running

- easy sorting options like by state / wakelock hold time / alphabetical order

By default Wakelock detector displays currently running applications on the top, sorted by longest CPU wakelock time.

Further user can change wakelock type or sorting option. For further details please refer to FAQ inside Settings.

"What is wakelock?"

WakeLock is a Power Manager system Service feature.

Wakelock can be used by apps to keep device CPU running(Partial wakelock), Prevent the screen from dimming(Full wakelock), Prevent the screen from turning off(Screen wakelock).

Creating and holding Wake Locks can have a dramatic influence on the battery drain. Apps which use wakelocks improperly can lead to situations in which your phone and/or screen stay on for a very long period.

Wakelock detector simplifies BetterBatteryStats by concentrating more on wakelocks.

How to use:

1) Install the app

2) unplug the USB cable if it is plugged.

3) give it a time to accumulate some wakelock usage statistics

4) run Wakelock detector, you'll see which apps use your CPU since last boot.

You can sort apps by the longest duration on the top menu "by Usage" . Also you can sort "by Active" which shows the currently running apps on the top.

If your screen is keeping on and not turning off on screen timeout, then you can choose Screen wakelock type on the top ( Brightness icon) to see which wakelock is holding your screen.

We are working on collecting the common wakelock issues which users faced up to now. Soon we will add them to our program.

Your feedbacks are always welcomed. We are trying to follow up all your comments.

And we know that the application is not yet ideal. We would appreciate if you send us email before giving negative comment in the Play Store.
